Golden Globes 2018 Red Carpet review part 1

The awards season is upon us and we kick start all of this with the 75th Golden Globe awards. 2017 was a tumultuous year for several industries and the entertainment industry was heavily shook and shaken with several scandals that really created a paradigm shift in everyone.

This season you will see literally a sea of black as this is the color of choice for the “TIMES UP” movement. A change is really upon us and the time for awakening is here. Now as a fashion lover I embrace black. I practically live in the color and this is going to be exciting to see. It’s really all about the design given that there is an equal playing filed in color. It’s a great way to see how these stars, designers and stylist really use the power to deliver the message.

So this is my l annual ittle peanut gallery of having fun and enjoying the red carpet show!

Alexis Bledel in Oscar de la Renta - I love a good trouser on the red carpet but that detail across the bodice looks like an sea weed afterthought. This just looks like it was found on a discount rack.

Alicia Vikander is looking modest chic. I like it. It’s like amish chic.

Angelina Jolie - ELEGANZA!!!! She looks like one of those actresses from the past cementing her status as Hollywood royalty.

Barbara Meier obviously didn’t get the memo. If you want to stand out this is perhaps not the best way to do it. I mean it has everything but the kitchen sink. Lace, embroidery, feathers, tulle, sheer…what a travesty.

Allison Williams in Armani Prive I like a bit of orange and black as I love halloween. LOL! This is quite elegant and the fabric is elegant.

Dakota Johnson in Gucci the back of this gown is divine. An elegant choice. Albeit safe but elegant none the less.

Emilia Clarke CUTE! Simple, quiet and fun.

Claire Foy in Stella McCartney - I love the underrated elegance of this I just wish she wore higher heels. I think this is winning look.

Geena Davis She looks wonderful. I have not seen her in many years and I am happy she is looking so gracious.

Darren Chris in Giorgio Armani- Playing on texture works if the it fits well. That crotch needs to be hiked up and the pants need a proper hem.

Kendall Jenner - She can do no wrong! I mean this puff ball of a gown could have gone south so wrong but on her it’s so right!

Kendall Jenner - She can do no wrong! I mean this puff ball of a gown could have gone south so wrong but on her it’s so right!

Lena Headey is looking sad and uninspired! She should have asked her team to bring it. This is when black is bleak.

Maggie Gyllenhall in Monse it’s interesting and modern. I can grow to love this bit I would rethink the shoes.

Kelly Clarkson in Christian Soriano Looks like she broke her arm and it’s in a golden cast? This is bewildering.

Common in Giorgio Armani when black on black on black literally works.

Mariah Carey - Is Mariah Carey. I love that she knows her style and sticks with it. Regardless if its in a time warp.

Noah Schnapp in Aalmain - Adorable! Love the little details that make this look too cute.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Dolce & Gahanna - CLASSIC SJP! I hope she’s happy with her look as in this photo it seems she isn’t. I would have tailored the sleeves to make it tighter.

Sarah Paulson another choice purchased in your local mall? I mean why? Seriously?

Issa Rae in Prabal Gurung- We have a winner here! Love the fabric and accessories are well chose. I would have edited the floral detail on the shoulder though.

Ricky Martin in Armani - Safe and sound!

Tracee Ellis rose in Marc Jacobs - that turban is everything! This look needs a soft sheer cape.

Zoe Kravitz - Best dressed for me! I love the restraint and that graphic green earring. She’s the modern day Audrey Hepburn in my opinion.

Jessica chastain in Armani Prive - Love that touch of silver on the side.

Samira Wiley in Romona Keveza - What is that on her chest? Gosh…give me a pair of scissors now!
