As a fashion designer the mecca and the holy grail of the fashion world is Paris Fashion week. We have been fortunate enough to have participated in Paris Fashion week for several seasons but I was not able to be physically present. However this season the stars have aligned and my sister and I found ourselves on a plain heading for epicenter if fashion.
I was certainly excited and thrilled to be showing our new collection. Together with my other talented Filipino designers Dennis Lustico, Rhett Eala and Ivarluski Aseron we banded together and to show what Philippine design is all about. All this will not be possible if not for the tireless efforts of My friends Carmina Jacob and Robby Carmona. Who together founded Fashion Exchange International. A company whose goal is to present and spread Philippine Fashion all over the world.
Now on it’s 3rd season of showing and from my own personal experience it only get better. We arrived early in the morning just in time for a nice welcome lunch where I met my aunt Chita Wilcox who lives in Paris and as luck would have it have the time to meet my dear friend Ria Bonilla who lives in Las Vegas but was on holiday in Paris. We had a beautiful French Style Bistro lunch that started with oysters which in my mind was the perfect welcome to Paris.
We then headed off to the showroom to set up our booth. It was fun to be able to do this all over again as it really enlivens the spirit and the soul. After a few hours we met up with friends who were also in Paris for Fashion week and was jesting that because there were so many Pinoy’s in Paris it felt like Pinoy Fashion week in Paris! LOL! This is day one of a week in Paris that my sister and I will never soon forget.
