I was in Cebu recently for the 50th anniversary of ORO CHINA! Oro China is a well loved jewerly brand that has become a beacon of business and industry for the last 50 years! Any business that has lasted 50 years is worthy of a grand celebration.
My friend Jennifer Ty invited me and 7 of the most talented fashion designers from Manila and Cebu. Designers like Randy Ortiz, Francis Liberian, Jun Escario, Arcy Gayatin, Philip Rodriguez and Cary Santiago! We all came up with 5 designs, four of which were for our models and a final look for our muse. I was so happy that my friend and neighbour Belle Daza was my muse as this made things so effortless and easy. Speaking of effortless and easy my collection was exactly that. I was inspired with the mindset of the 90’s really minimal with that Jil Sander and Helmut Lang kind of vibe. I also used a clean palette of Nude and white which I thought would go perfectly with the rose gold collection that was going to be used for my portion. For the styling of my collection I borrowed wigs from my friend Jennifer Sevilla which channelled 90’s version of Naomi Cambell. All the girls were wearing these and I even tried one set on for my size. It was really fun and hilarious.
I really had a great time in Cebu as I have family and friends there. We all truly enjoyed. My highlight was getting to spend alone time with my sister Venisse. Both of us are so busy with our lives that these special moments are really cherished. Once again, Congratulations to ORO CHINA of your 50th anniversary! I pray that we get to stay see that moment for ourselves in the future as well.
