Taiwan boasts of several beautiful museums and on the weekend that I was there I had only time to see one. I decided to go to the National Palace Museum as it was Nix’s first time to go to Taiwan and I thought that this would be the best way for us to see most of the beautiful treasures that Taiwan has.

I remember how I was so impressed the last time I visited that I wanted to experience this all over again. The weather that weekend was raining all the time so Museum visits are the best activities to do. The last time I was there, the guide immediately told me to line up for the Jade Cabbage. At first I thought I heard wrong but when I got there, there was this long line to see the cabbage. The same was true the second time I visited and I was really amused. However each culture is different and each perceive and look at treasures differently. I love the symbolic meaning of the cabbage and that of the artists upon which it was created. The philosophy of making the imperfections of the jade perfect for the sculpture was beautiful.

The Museum is not very large but there were so many things to see, admire and learn. I chose a selection of images to show you all what I saw. I was deeply inspired and moved. From the colors, shapes and techniques. It was really fascinating. When in Taiwan this museum is an absolute must visit. https://www.npm.gov.tw/en/
